Language Expert Learns Gen Alpha Slang to Give High School Speech

If you’re a parent of a teenager and struggle to understand what they’re saying, this is a video you have to see. YouTuber Xiaomanyc recently gave a surprise speech at a high school where he spoke entirely in Gen Alpha slang. The students were shocked at first, but then they couldn’t stop laughing. If you’ve struggled to understand what your teen is saying, you get a huge laugh out of it too! He absolutely killed it.

Xiaomanyc has made an entire career as a content creator by learning languages very quickly and then surprising people in their native tongue. People don’t expect an average man to speak the languages he does with great pronunciation. He started with speaking Chinese, but now learns languages that are less common for an even bigger shock-factor.

This time, he took on a different kind of challenge. He studied teen slang and used it to give a full speech during the school’s Language Week. He said things like “delulu,” “rizz,” and “lowkey a W” with perfect timing.

This was a big risk. If he misused any of the gen alpha slang words, they would see him as cringe. However, his studying paid off and successfully used all of the phrases in the proper context

I know it’s delulu for this cheugy boomer to speak with such skibidi brainrot

The speech wasn’t just for humor, it actually taught a great lesson. It praised the newer generation for participating in the constant evolution of communication. This message was incredibly well received. When “old” people talk about teenage slang, it is typically in the context of criticising it for being incomprehensible. That was definitely not the case with Xiaoma’s speech. It was the perfect blend of humor, praise, and inspiration.

Additionally, Xiaoma played the role perfectly by dressing up as a professor with formal attire and glasses to complete the look. He also made fun at himself along the way, calling himself an old 34 year old millennial. That’s part of the reason the speech landed so well. You typically don’t see someone looking the way he does, saying the words and phrases that he did. In that sense, it was similar to his usual content when he speaks Mandarin Chinese or Tagalog.

Here is his most popular video with over 90 million views on YouTube where he orders food in Chinese:
