This Saturday night, July 30, at 8pm ET/PT, Lea Thompson (Back to the Future, Caroline in the City) stars in “The Cabin,” a Hallmark Movie Channel Original, Saturday, July 30 (8pm ET/PT, 7C).

In The Cabin, Lily MacDougall (Thompson) and Conor MacDougall (Steven Brand), divorced strangers who have little in common but their surname, have each brought their children to Scotland to enter a family-style competition. But when the two reservations of MacDougalls are confused for one reservation, both families find themselves sharing one cabin.

Hallmark Movie Channel is a 24-hour cable network dedicated to presenting family-friendly movies that families can watch together (For more information, please visit http://www.hallmarkmoviechannel.com/).

Your Teen had a chance to speak with Lea Thompson.

What did you enjoy about filming The Cabin?
I loved working in Ireland. The crew was so much fun and they didn’t mind when I tried to imitate their beautiful accent. (I had an Irish accent in Back to the Future 3.) The director was wonderful as well, and we all had lots of laughs.

How were the kids in the movie?
The kids were great. They are English and Irish yet they did a great job playing American teens.

Are the teens in The Cabin like your teens?
Hallmark designs family movies. The kids are very wholesome and more sheltered than many teens today. Hallmark intentionally presents movies that appear more innocent.

Did you have fun filming The Cabin?
This was my first light romantic comedy in a movie. I liked the idea and the Scottish games were fun.

Do your two daughters mind that you are famous?
Having a famous mom is their norm. They never had a different mom, so for them, it is what it is. The only thing they really mind is when I kiss another man. It makes them crazy.

How does it feel to have your daughters follow you into acting?
Watching both my daughters enter the acting profession is weird. My younger daughter wanted to start acting when she was very young but I did not let her until she was 15. I did not want to be a stage mom.

Did you recently take a leap from acting to producing?
Yes. I produced a movie, Mayor Cupcakes, that will be released July 26 on DVD. I played a mom with two daughters so I invited both of my real daughters to be my movie daughters. (Co-starring Judd Nelson and Frankie Faison). Click here to order the DVD of Mayor Cupcakes
