Is Everyone Having Sex on Prom Night?

Reality or Perception?

“The weather forecast for Prom night is rain. So boys, bring your rubbers”. This was the joke before my prom, way back when. Sex was popular then, too. Still, I knew I wasn’t going to have sex after prom. I went to prom with a male friend and a physical relationship was not even an issue.

Today seems like a different story. I hear from parents that everyone will have sex on prom night whether they are in a relationship or just on a date. The rumor is that they all do it.

Really? Does everyone really have sex on prom night? Or is this just another example of exaggeration?

Many would want you to think they all do it!

It’s probably an exaggeration, but I wouldn’t know because during my prom, I wanted it to be a nice, fancy night and the guy that I went with kept on wanting to drag me on the dance floor to grind (NOT my style at all, which he knew and chose to ignore) and afterwards, when I told him that I wanted to go to an afterparty, he told me no, we couldn’t and we went back to his house where he expected us to have sex all night even though I was on my period. I had never been so disgusted. While I suppose some people have that expectation, I would rather not go there.
